Dan Burns

Director of Community Engagement

Dan Burns is the Director of Community Outreach for the Billerica Christmas Parade.

Dan grew up in Lexington and has been a resident of Billerica since 1988. Married to his wife of 37 years, Marie, he is the proud father to his children Sarah and James.

Dan has a long history in community service and volunteerism. He served for 25 years as an Auxiliary Police Officer in Lexington, has been a Town Meeting Member for over 20 years and served 2 terms on the Select Board with his last year as Chairman of the Board.

In addition, Dan has served on numerous town and community committees. These include supporting our youth as Committee Chair of Boy Scout Pack 88 and as an Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 55 as well as serving on the Water and Sewer Enterprise, Billerica Council on Aging, and the Billerica Memorial High School Building Committee to name a few. He is also the current Captain of the Billerica Colonial Minutemen.

When thought of creating the Billerica Christmas Parade first arose during the onset of the Covid Pandemic, Dan jumped on board to help ensure that the joy and spirit of Christmas and the Holidays was shared across the entire town and is looking forward to this year’s parade.
